About Me

Bio:

I am just your average Christian, married woman. I started this blog when I was a senior in high school simply because I love writing. I am a child of God and I love Him with all of my heart. However, I am not a perfect person, as no one is, and I still make mistakes. I was voted most creative and most unique by my senior class (2010). I am very right brained so I love pretty much all things in the creative world. I love my family very much, my husband, parents, and sister. My older cousin is like a brother to me. I am a huge bookworm, and still have a small hope of become an author one day. I have also been known to geek out on occasion. :) I love Lord of the Rings, Marvel, DC Comics, and Disney!

Growing Up:

I grew up in Dallas, Texas with my parents and my little sister. I only moved once during my childhood and it was only two miles away. I went to Harding University for a year and then moved myself to Vancouver, Washington for 6 months where I lived with my aunt, uncle, and cousin and worked at Vancouver Pizza Company. (They have the best pizza ever, by the way.)

Our Love Story:

I met Tanner on eharmony. (Yeah, we're one of those couples. :) ) I was living in Vancouver, Washington at the time and he was in Ohio, where he grew up. I had seen him on my matches and didn't think much because he was in Ohio. He saw me and thought, "She'll never talk to me." However, he sent me a "smile" anyway. When I saw the smile I checked out his profile, saw that he was very involved in the church and thought, "Why not?" We went through the steps and started talking through the eharmony e-mail and then we talked on the phone and started texting, A short while later we started talking on Skype. On November 27, 2011 we started dating. He then came to meet me in Dallas the week before Christmas. It felt so normal that he was there. I moved back to Dallas and went up to Ohio to visit him for a week. He then got offered a job in Lafayette, Louisiana as his boss and his boss's friend, who is in Lafayette, decided to create a business there. So, I went up to Ohio for a while to help him move down to Louisiana in May. On June 8, 2012 (at around 8:30pm), after surprising me with a picnic, supposedly as an early birthday present as my birthday was the next week, with my parents help, Tanner got down on one knee and proposed. (To see the proposal, click here!) We then married on September 1, 2012. All from a smile on eharmony. Ha ha!

Our Puppy:

Tanner and I took in our puppy dog from friends of ours. Ruby was born October 31, 2012 and we are so happy we have her! Even if she is a stinker sometimes. Ruby loves to play fetch and tug of war. She gets so excited when Tanner or I come home. She is a Dachshund terrier (maybe Beagle) mix. We love our pupper very much!

Our Growing Family:

In October of 2018, we welcomed our firstborn into this world! Eden is our beautiful baby girl and we are extremely grateful God gave her to us!

Faith:

I grew up in the Church of Christ. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for my sins. I was baptized when I was 8 years old and, though I have made mistakes as I am not perfect, I have given my life to God. He is all that I need and who sustains me. Jesus is my firm foundation and through Him I can do anything. Tanner and I currently attend a Church of Christ and are very involved with the youth group.

If you have any questions, I would love to answer them! :)
